Temporary Body Tattoos

Temporary body tattoos have been extremely popular with kids for many years. You can probably remember a time when you were young that you wore a temporary tattoo.

Temporary tattoos are like stickers that transfer onto the skin when made wet bay a damp cloth. They then last a few days, slowly pealing off after every bath or shower. Temporary body tattoos are cheap to produce and this gives them a wide appeal. Often they are handed out as promotional items, or are found in cereal boxes. You can actually purchase more upscale quality temporary tattoos that look real, which is a great way to try out a tattoo before getting a real one. There are even websites out there that will create a temporary tattoo for you based on your own design. One such site is the “Temporary Tattoo Factory”. Check it out, by clicking here it’s pretty cool!

There are other types of temporary tattoos if one doesn’t want to apply a sticker type tattoo to their skin. Even though these are a great way to get a temporary tattoo, they don’t last long and they peel off pretty quickly. So this brings us to 2 other temporary tattoo methods, both henna art tattoos and airbrush tattoos.

Henna Tattoos

Henna tattoos are a form of body art from India. Henna tattoos are intricate beautiful designs usually used to decorate the hands and feet. You can read more about Henna Tattoos at a previous blog by  clicking here. Henna tattoos are used by applying an ink that is created from a plant called Lawsonia Inermis. This ink lasts for about 4 weeks on the skin and fades over time, so it is a great solution for a more realistic temporary tattoo. You can even apply henna tattoos yourself with home kits that you can purchase.

Airbrush Tattoos

These are really the best temporary tattoos because they look so realistic. A stencil is placed on the skin as a template and then, and colors and lines are airbrushed onto the skin. These tattoos can last a week or more before starting to fade. There are a huge range of designs available  and many of the designs might be the actual tattoo you are thinking of getting. So it’s a great way to test it out and see if you like it before committing to the real thing.
