The Celtic people lived very close to nature and had many beliefs, legends and symbolism for many natural elements. They believed that the butterfly symbolized rebirth and transformation.
Celtic butterfly tattoos have bolder lines and the butterfly wings are either filled in with the Celtic artwork or a Celtic border might surround the butterfly image.

Tribal Butterfly Tattoo
The symmetrical nature of a butterfly works well with a tribal design. Tribal butterfly tattoos are often black, or a combination of a colored butterfly with black tribal swirls.

Lower Back Butterfly Tattoos
Lower back butterfly tattoos are usually larger, stylized butterfly images that stretch across the lower back. This is one of the most popular places to get a tattoo for women. The placement of the butterfly on the lower back works perfectly as the butterfly is symmetrical.

In order to apply a tattoo onto your skin, a tattoo artist needs a stencil.
If you think about it, before any artwork can be created, the artist needs a visual guide or outline of the design, before they can create their masterpiece. So the stencil is a line drawing of the actual tattoo and acts as a reference point for the tattoo artist. There are many places to get printable tattoo stencils on the internet.
A stencil is also known as a line drawing these line drawing are run through a thermofax (or similar device) which results in the line drawings transferred to carbon paper. The tattoo artist then applies a liquid solution on the skin, and presses the carbon line drawings onto the skin. This provides an outline of the design on the skin, which acts as the guide to create the actual tattoo.
The tattoo flash artist is the one who creates the stencil on paper, and it is this design that is then given to the tattoo artist who applies the tattoo onto the skin. Some tattoo artists may use the stencil provided by the tattoo flash artist exactly the way it is, while others may alter the stencil depending on their creativity to create tattoos on the skin.

So what is printable tattoo flash?
Tattoo flash is essentially an idea for a tattoo design that is sketched on paper and is made available for people to view and purchase.
Tattoo flash is hand-drawn art designs that are found and displayed on the walls of tattoo parlors to give people who walked into the parlor ideas for a tattoo. This sped up the process of tattooing while at the same time gave the tattoo artist the opportunity to show off their artwork.
The best tattoo flash should come with an outline which involves a stencil or line drawing and a full color detail version of the tattoo. The stencil helps the tattoo artist copy the original lines of the design, then the full color image is used as a guide to complete the tattoo design. If the artwork doesn’t have a separate stencil sheet the tattoo artist must draw out the sketch of the tattoo line work.

Lower back tattoos are extremely popular for women. The lower back on a woman is curvy, smooth and sensual, as well as being a good sized area which makes it a great surface for a tattoo and there are lots of places on the internet to find inspiring printable lower back tattoos.
The great thing about a lower back tattoo is that you can cover it with your clothing during the work day, and show it off with a pair of hip-hugging jeans when it’s time to party. It’s like a fashion accessory to be shown off when ever one feels like. These tattoos are definitely sexy, and are bound to draw attention the moment you reveal one.
A lower back tattoo is interesting and sensual as it follows the beautiful curve of the females hour glass form. The tattoo runs horizontally and some that are larger in the middle contour around the natural curves on either side of the womans spine. Tattoos on the lower back don’t stretch or age with changes in the body, so they retain their shape and colour a lot better than tattoos on other areas of the body.
There are many designs to choose from but some of the most popular include the butterfly, flower, dragon, Celtic, tribal, sun, heart, and star.
Whatever lower back tattoo design chosen, it will draw attention to the fact that you are seeing a part of a woman’s body that is usually covered, making it sensual and feminine.
